Change We “Need”?

President Obama spent much time campaigning about how much change we “need” in this country. This short video demonstrates what he thought NEEDED to be changed. I don’t get it. How does he think these changes will make us better off? Why does he not study failed governmental ideas and try not to make those same mistakes here?
And why oh why are we even considering government controlled healthcare when we are worse than BROKE? We simply do NOT have the money to be considering something like this right now. When you are borrowing money just to make budget; you STOP SPENDING as much as possible!  Everyone in America is having to do this but Washington.

A Scientific Thought Leader?

Here I have linked an article about the John Holdren, Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology. The article is basically about a book that he co-authored 30 years ago that today he is trying to distance himself from. Why? Well, the book suggests that forced abortion and forced sterilization are viable ways to control the population of this sacred planet.  I wonder if Mr. Holdren would be the first to sacrifice his own children to the planet god.  I’m sorry I am not usually so sarcastic but there are times that I get so frustrated with the idea that humans are the problem instead of the solution.  People are amazing resources, especially when they are trained and educated to work together to solve problems.   Why should we try to ditch our most valuable resource?  IT”S CRAZY!!!  AND THIS GUY IS TALKING TO AND INFLUENCING THE PRESDIENT.

Dr. George Tiller’s Funeral

Today Dr. Tiller’s funeral took place in Wichita, KS. Interesting comments were made at his funeral. You can read some of them here. One person instructed God to get ready because heaven was going to improve with Dr. Tiller’s arrival. Shocking as that might seem to those who understand the holiness of God and that no human, even those who love Him intently and hold fervently to His Word, can improve on His Holy Presence, it makes sense in this context. Dr. Tiller lived in rebellion to God’s Word. Though he would never have picked up a gun or any other weapon and killed an adult or even a child that had been born, he made money day after day killing children. So, when God’s Word is marginalized and held without sacred care, the slope of morality becomes slippery and the value of people quickly exceed the value of God and His Word. In that context heaven can be improved upon.

From all accounts it seems that Dr. Tiller was a very likable and nice guy. He seemed to of had a great personality and was probably a fun person to be around. I feel especially sad that his pastor and his friends let him down by making him feel like what he was doing was perfectly ok because he was “serving” women.   Today he was portrayed as a hero.

His death has caused a set back for the pro-life movement.

Dr. George Tiller’s death

Dr. George Tiller was shot and killed as he attended church yesterday. Dr. Tiller was one of the few doctors in America who performed third trimester abortions. He was located in Wichita, KS.   We lived in Pratt, KS in the early 90′s and I remember working with pro-life groups that begged him to stop his very disturbing practice.

Often times the babies that are aborted are killed because they are sick or because they have some sort of physical deformity or because they have a chromosome disorder.  I don’t understand why theses babies have lost value in America.  All of the procedures for killing them are rather brutal and very disturbing.  It is overwhelming.

However, just as these babies that are killed have value, given to them by their Creator, so did Dr. Tiller.   Many of us believed him to be a criminal.  However, you can only be a criminal if you have committed a crime.  In the USA, killing babies while they are in the womb is not a crime.  Why is it not a crime?  Because many American women have insisted that killing babies while they rely on the mothers’ bodies is more about equal rights than it is about human rights.  They have shouted about this loud enough and often enough that they have their way and in fact it is legal to kill babies in the womb.  So Dr. Tiller was not a criminal if we only apply American law.

He was a killer according to the laws of his Creator though and now he must face his Creator.  I have to admit that I am deeply saddened that he never repented of his practice and now will spend eternity suffering because of his lack of knowledge and fear of God.  “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”  Hebrews 10:31  (Yes, I know he was at church when he was killed.  I cannot understand  pastors who are willing to overlook blatant sin and allow people like Dr. Tiller to feel “comfortable” with God while in clear rebellion to his Word.  But just because the pastor does this, does NOT mean that the offense is overlooked by God.)

It was wrong to kill him.  As Christians we are commanded by God to live under the law of the land. Emotionally charged though we may become at injustice, we must rest in God’s Sovereignty.   “Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. Romans 12:17

Abortion Kills Human Children

Last night I enjoyed a terrific dinner with some terrific company. As we talked, one of them made reference to this video. I found it this morning and am posting for you. It is powerful. Will you pass it on through your communication mode?

I want to add that as you share and educate other women in our country, please do so with prayer and with great grace.  There are many women among us now that have fallen prey to the lie and while many of them do not feel guilt and do not look back with regret, some of them are devastated.  To the devastated, we MUST offer HOPE.  There is forgiveness, life, and hope in repentance and in commitment to follow Jesus.  For the “hardened” women, we must pray.  These women are hardened in part because they are sinners, just like us, and in part because our society has “indoctrinated” women to believe that their rights are being challenged by those who want abortion to be illegal.

At this point, I think we are a long ways from getting abortion to be illegal, but we can save babies and that’s what we should be doing…..saving babies by education and by volunteering to take “unwanted” babies.  If you are not at place in life  where you can adopt a baby, find a couple that you know is and ask them if you happen to have a conversation with someone in a crisis pregnancy, could you say, “I know of a stable, loving home for your baby….one phone call away.”    Sometimes that reality helps.

And as always, let’s pray for our president and our nation’s leaders.  As Dr. Piper states, many of them are blind.

The Truth Makes a Difference

I was so encouraged today to see the results of a gallup poll concerning abortion.  You have got to go and look at this chart posted on their website!!!!!!!!!!!

In part, we can attribute this change in opinion to the wonder of science allowing us to look at our children before they are born(sonogram).  There really are little people in the womb…..it really is not a “blob” for someone to make money removing!

And we can attribute this change to the tireless educational efforts of dedicated believers who know that abortion traumatizes women and kills children.

And finally, we can praise God that He is opening the eyes of people in our nation as His people pray

Are you a Terrorist?

It never ceases to amaze me what people will do to “demonize” those with whom they disagree.  Chris Matthews, a very liberal host on MSNBC, called pro-lifers terrorists because we disagree with the nomination of Kathleen Sebelius for Secretary of Health and Human Resources.  (You can view a 42 sec video of him at www.eyeblast.tv  I could not get it to embed here.)  Why do we disagree?  Because though she claims to be against abortion, personally, she votes pro-choice every time without exception.  (To me that makes her sound like a hypocrite.)

Anyway, the whole point of this post is to remind myself and my pro-life friends that we MUST continue to pray.  Our society is becoming less and less tolerant of “dissenting voices.”  In other words the voices of those who stand for moral issues as they are dictated by the Bible.  People do not care what the Bible has to say about anything and therefore feel quite convinced that our country will be just fine if we just “go with the majority’s opinion”  on issues.  As Christians we know that we are in for some very depraved ideas if we continue on this route because the human heart is desperately wicked.    “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick: who can understand it?” Jer. 17:9

“Praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication.  To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints.”

A Well-Informed 12 Year Old

This little girl was almost not allowed to give this speech in her school. I guess because it contained too many facts that would bother people.  You realize that on the issue of abortion if society can avoid the facts, the cause will seem more like a woman’s rights issue rather than an issue of life and death.

Anyway, she is a brave little girl!

NBC Rejects An Awesome Ad

Let’s continue to pray for the hearts of people in our nation and around the world to be softened. This video should provide some food for thought! It was made for the purpose of showing during the Superbowl, but NBC rejected it. While that’s discouraging, we still have the internet. If you have some friends who have not understood the value of children while in the womb, prayerfully share it with them! Let’s all use our spheres of influence even if they aren’t as big as NBC’s! Years ago one conversation changed my husband’s mind! Every saved life counts!!
