I am having a very busy Monday and am not going to get to post the next installment on the women’s retreat material so I am going to take this opportunity to highlight a friend of mine’s mission fundraiser. Kerry Wilson’s husband, Daniel, and maybe Kerry too (wasn’t officially decided last time we talked) are headed to the Philippines this summer. They are working on raising their support. SOOOOOOOOOO…..if you are in the market for cloth diapers (because you can DEFINITELY save some money using them….I have seven), she is MAKING….yes sewing some and selling them. Now, I think, that in and of, itself is amazing. I am delighted when I hem a pair of pants, but to produce something that will keep a little bottom from leaking all over the place is simply wonderful.
Kerry is selling these AND providing some great tips about cloth diapering on her blog.
Check it out and if your kids are too big for such needs, pass the word to some stay-at-home moms who are pinching their pennies. While the upfront cost is more, the savings is easily calculated in the long run. And really, you only need two days worth. Wear one supply one day while washing the next….simple! As you wash your new diapers, you can remember that the proceeds from the sale went to “preach the word” in the Philippines!! And you can pray….pray for the gospel light to spread around the globe. What a wonderful double use of funds….I wish all the proceeds from all the things I purchase could be used for gospel-spreading!
Pass the word!
